Platform rules

Character limits, media rules, follow-ups, and per-network settings for every shipped channel.

Every network disagrees on caption length, attachment count, and extra fields. This page is the composer and publish reference for channels OpenQuok ships today — not marketing coming soon badges on channel landing pages.

Use it with Writing the post, Media, and Threads and comments when you schedule from the dashboard. Programmatic field shapes for API keys live in Provider settings.

Every platform

OpenQuok registers ten backend identifiers across eight marketing slugs. Connect each channel once per workspace account — see Connect a channel. Self-hosted operators register developer apps per network — see Social integrations.

Character limits

Scheduled posts are validated server-side against each channel’s cap (see the table above). This includes main post text, follow-up comments, thread finisher, or plug comments.

  • Dashboard — the post editor blocks over-limit captions when you schedule, while drafts may still save longer copy.
  • API, CLI, and MCP-t schedule / status: scheduled enforces the same caps; -t draft / status: draft may store longer text until you shorten it before scheduling.
  • X — weighted counting applies on schedule (same rules as the composer counter).

Names that differ

The dashboard and marketing site use short labels. APIs, CLI filters, and integration rows use the identifier column above.

Composer launch rules treat both Instagram identifiers and both LinkedIn identifiers as one family each — validation in Media follows the stricter network in your selection.
